I often get asked where I shop from and what my favourite brands are; and while there are quite a few brands I love, the one I shop from the most, is probably ASOS. Since Autumn is my favourite season to dress for, I thought it is the perfect time to share my autumn wardrobe as well as my favourite items from ASOS right now.
As a child, I remember telling my mum that wanted to move to a colder country just so that I could wear jackets. Twenty years since and nothing has changed; the most exciting part for me about autumn and winter is still outerwear.
Autumn to me is all about outerwear, so I tend to keep my tops quite basic. The trends I am currently loving are T-shirts with cutesy French words and ruffles. I also find myself reaching a lot for white tops since they easy to style with everything.
I live in Dubai, which means, it doesn’t get very cold. My friends here usually get excited about the ‘cold’ weather when the temperature drops to 20°C! As a result, I have the liberty to wear bottoms that are not necessarily autumnal. The one trend I love year on year in autumn is leather bottoms. Be it skirts or trousers. I always try to include them in my wardrobe.
Over the years, I have realised that my style is sort of minimalist. Although there are times, when I totally go extra, most times, I live by less is more. This is especially true for accessories.
Leopard print is my absolute favourite in autumn. Every year, I find myself pulling out my leopard bag as I find it to be the perfect accessory to dress up a simple outfit.
This year, an addition to the leopard print bag, I have also added a red bag to my wardrobe. Red is everywhere this season, and I often find that a bag is the simplest way to adopt a trend without committing too much to it. Plus I have wanted a staple red bag for years and have finally found one that I really love.
I also feel like a good belt can really dress up an outfit whilst being really functional and chic at the same time.
After outerwear, shoes are my favourite thing about autumn wear, especially boots. I spent my early twenties wearing shoes that were not necessarily well made. However, now-a-days, I try to invest only in well made shoes, ideally leather, so that they last me for longer.
This year, I really wanted to find a good pair of studded leather boots as well as sock style ankle boots as they are perfect to wear with dresses
I have had these items in my wardrobe for over a month now and am throughly enjoying using all of them. What updates have you made in your wardrobe for autumn?
