Pantry Cafe

February 17, 2017 · 46 Comments

When I was in university, a very close friend and I used to go an try out a new cafe every Monday. We used to call it ‘New Cafe Monday’. These cafes might not have been newly opened, but they were new to us. We did it until we ran out of cafes to visit in Leeds, but the idea always stuck with me. It has been many years since our first New Cafe Monday now, but everytime I am in a new city, I try to explore as many cafes as I possible can.

When I moved to Dubai, the whole Friday- Saturday weekend thing was very amusing to me initially. However, I love how by living here, I get to enjoy the weekend a day earlier than the rest of the world. Being a breakfast lover, every Friday morning, I wake up and drag my husband to try out a new cafe. I was I’m now calling it ‘New Cafe Friday’ and would love to share my thoughts about the cafes I try with you.

This weekend we went to Pantry Cafe. This is one of my favourite cafes in Dubai and have actually been there a lot of times. They have two outlets in Dubai although we always go to the one in Bay Square in Business Bay. It must be so hard to manage two outlets like that. They must be using some sort of business management software to help them. A friend of mine also works for a restaurant who had started to use SAP business one software. You can find out the SAP business one price online and then decided whether it’s right for your business.

I ordered the Truffled Wild Mushroom on Toast which is poached eggs with truffle caviar and mushrooms on sourdough bread. I like my poached eggs to be medium runny and they were perfectly poached. The truffle caviar was absolutely delicious too. It was rich, bursting with flavour of the truffle oil. It also gave the dish an incredible aroma.

I also ordered a vanilla latte as my drink of choice. The coffee quality was truly excellent. In terms of taste, my vanilla latte had just the right amount of sweetness.

What I have realised over the years of living in Dubai is that the one can get really spoilt for choice when it comes to food, the options are endless. And with so much competition, it is not just the food, but also the decor of the place that impacts the final experience of dining, even if it is just breakfast! Pantry Cafe has a modern industrial vibe to their decor with exposed ceiling cement floors. It looks clean very inviting. This is a great sign of a well run establishment and makes it much more appetizing from a customers perspective. I must say this hints of the business using effective tools to enable efficiency. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out they are using an enterprise application to assist them. If you feel this could be useful to your business, view this page.

The next time you are in Business Bay, I would definitely recommend going to Pantry, especially if it is a delicious breakfast you are after!

Omg that place looks so yummy! There are so many good places to try out there. Dallas alone has more restaurants than you can ever eat at in a lifetime!

This is such a cute cafe. I love that you used to try new cafes with your friend every Monday and now every Friday with the hubby. We love to try new restaurants every week – some weekends two or more times, and some not at all – especially since we’d travel somewhere almost every month and that would mean trying new things every meal for days, so we’d come back and just eat at home for a weekend to recover. lol New experiences are always wonderful! That food looks amazing and your photos really capture how nice this spot is!
