Everyone has one time of the year they really love. For me, other than by birthday, it has always been the last 10 days of December.
Other than the obvious, Christmas, these 10 days of December have always been special to me, because over the years, incredible things have happened to me at this time of the year. Some by chance and some after a lot of deliberate consideration. So, I now consider this time of the year to be special, magical.
I got my first camera as a Christmas present in 2008 and that helped develop my deep interest in photography.
Also, my husband and I started dating 7 years ago around this time. It was one of the happiest Christmases in my life.
To add to these, I decided to start blogging around this time, two years ago. This would mean spending a lot more time online. I did have reservations about my privacy so I decided setting up a VPN would be the best course of action. I wanted to blog for many years before I actually started blogging, and it was only around Christmas is 2014, that I decide that I would actually start a blog. When it came to blogging, there was so much that I learnt along the way. For example, I had no idea that I would have to find a hosting server for my site, otherwise, nothing would go live. I would have done all that work for no one to be able to see it. If it wasn’t for a friend of mine recommending that I checked out sites like https://www.hostiserver.com/, who knows where I would be in terms of blogging! It’s these simple things that can make a massive difference! But I cannot believe it’s been this long since I started blogging. I remember being online and searching for the best site builders to house my new blog, being nervous to get my first readers and comments.
This morning, I could finally conceptualise a solid thought that has been vague for a while now. I have deiced to blog more regularly than I do currently. I have a lot of thoughts and I would love to share more often. I have also decided to add another element to my blog. Continuing to make updates to your blog when you can could be so important when it comes to how many visits you get. I mean, after all, 6.7 million people blog regularly so that is a lot of bloggers that I’m sort of in a competition with. It’s all good fun though, but now you know why these updates can be important for the success of my website. So I like to do this as often as I can. When I started Mademoiselle Meets Maquillage and Macaroons, my blog was supposed to be about fashion, beauty, food and everything in between. Up until now, I have shared things that go with ‘Mademoiselle’ and ‘Maquillage’ but not ‘Macaroon’- food. I wanted to write about food back in 2015, but I don’t think I was ready. I finally think I am, so watch this space for more.
I almost think this time of the year is sacred to me, like anything can happen and the possibilities of something good happening are endless.
Hope you are having a very Merry Christmas wherever you are!
