In 2015 I tried a lot of new products I thought it would be nice to have a round up of my favourite discoveries in 2015.
I have been very selective with my choice, and these are all the products I discovered and I genuinely you loved in 2015. Some I plan to re-purchase when I run out, others I have back ups of already, so you know I really enjoyed using these products.
Estée Lauder Clear Difference BB cream:
This product is on of the best base makeup discoveries I have ever made. Just saying that is a huge claim, as I am slightly obsessed with finding the perfect base all the time. I discovered this product in March 2015 and it was the only product I used until the end of the year.
It has great coverage, has SPF 35 and I use the shade Deep which is an exact match for my skin tone. There is something about the texture of this product that seems to airbrush all my skin imperfections away and makes me glow without looking oily.
Nars Radiant creamy concealer:
Like I said, I am eternally obsessed with finding the perfect base makeup. This includes concealer. Again, one of the best concealers I have ever used.
The texture is great and has a lot of coverage. On no makeup days, I usually use just this under my eyes for some brightness and am a happy bunny. I use the colour Caramel and it is great for under the eyes and the rest of my face.
Bobbi Brown Simmer Brick Cranberry:
When I first got the Shimmer brick, I wasn’t sure if I had made the right choice as I thought it would be too dark on my skin tone. But was I was so pleasantly surprised when this shimmer brick looked perfect on my skin tone. What’s more, it has really great nude and bronze shades as well, which look great as a highlighter as well as an eye shadow.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a all-in-one face colour product.
This is not a new fragrance in the market, but it definitely a new edition to my fragrance collection. I got this fragrance back in September 2015 and have used it non-stop since. This perfume has a very peculiar scent, its powdery, musky and I get hints of vanilla at the same time. It feels like a grown up scent, however, its not a boring scent. hWat remains at the end of the day are notes of vanilla and musk which I enjoy a lot.
Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Blossom
I first smelt this fragrance on a colleague, and I absolutely loved it. It is a sweet, yet fresh scent in my opinion. I am not very good at describing scents, but it reminds me of my time in the UK. Especially a crisp sunny, spring morning.
This is also a great fragrance if like to layer fragrances. Layering fragrances on top of each other is a very common thing in the Middle East. I did not learn this technique until I moved to Dubai. I like to layer this fragrance with Tom Ford White Suede for my own blend of fragrance!
I will definitely be repurchasing this fragrance once I run out. I’m already thinking of getting a travel size for my bag.
Dior Addict Lip Glow
Just before the my wedding this year, the doctor put my on Accutane to clear the acne on my skin. While it did clear up my skin, it also made my skin extremely dry and I think my lips suffered the most. I couldn’t wear any lipstick and even the moisturising ones were painful to use. It was then that I discovered Dior Addict Lip Glow. It has the all the properties of a lip balm and also gives out a natural pink colour to the lips. This colour is based on colour intuitive technology. Meaning, it adapts to your natural lips shade, whatever that might be. Since I couldn’t really wear any lipstick, this was perfect for me. I have gone through about 3 tubes of product since, making it my most used lip product ever!
Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in Decisive Poppy
Claiming that this is my all time favourite lipstick would be a very big deal. However, this lipstick comes very, very close to being my favourite lipstick ever. I discovered this lipstick around July, when I had finally finished my course of Accutane, and could use a lipstick again. I love matte lipsticks, however, I was sceptical about being able to use a lipstick, let alone a matte lipstick so soon after getting off accutane. However, I was very pleasantly surprised when I realised that the formula of this lipstick was quite moisturising and extremely long lasting. Normally, I eat up a lipstick within an hour of wearing it, however, this one lasts all day, even after I eat, which is incredible.
The colour itself is one of the best shades of red. It is cherry red, which is a blue red and as a result it suits all skin tones. Also, it makes teeth look whiter, which is always a good thing!
So, here are my overly selective favourites. What did you try in 2015 that you absolutely loved, I would love to know.
