Christmas day is my favourite day of the year ( other than my birthday).
This year, Christmas is special as my parents came to visit me and this is the first Christmas we spent together in 5 years! The day was pretty chilled out. My husband and I exchanged gifts in the morning and we went out for lunch. We then went to pick up my parents at the airport and then had a jolly time at home in the evening!
As far as my opinion on what to wear on Christmas day, I think I lie somewhere in the middle. I like being comfy when I’m at home, and being slightly dressed up if I’m going out.
Also, every year, I like to wear something new for Christmas. When I was little, my mum would get me a new dress for a special occasion, over the years, that has stuck with me.
This is what I wore when we went out.
The dress is one of my new favourites and is from Emily Schuman’s Cupcake and Cashmere range and is called the Marin dress.
I have ogled over this dress for ages. It was part of the first range she brought out. However, I resisted it for as long as I could. Then last week, I was browsing Shopbop and there it was, on sale. I still resisted it (for about 15 minutes after). Finally, I decided that I wanted to add it to my shopping cart, just for fun. The minute I did, the letters in red appeared ‘last piece’. My ‘just for fun’ was just for fun no more and I bought the dress.
Two days later, I was wearing it on Christmas Day.
The dress is extremely delicate as it is all lace, and is beautifully made. However, I find the white dress slip quite sheer again my skin tone and need to wear something inside that is all nude to counteract the sheerness.
